Amazon's Internal Risk team sits at the intersection of advanced investigation, emerging technology, and global business impact, and we're looking for an investigator ready to operate at that level. This is a role for someone who has built real expertise in fraud, cyber, or financial crime, and is ready to apply it where the complexity is greatest.

We are seeking an experienced Security Industry Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in risk management, digital fraud, compliance, or cyber investigations, with demonstrated experience conducting technical investigations across domains such as cybersecurity, cryptocurrency, fraud auditing, or security engineering. In this role, you will lead complex, end to end investigations using SQL, AI native tooling, and agentic automation to identify patterns, scale findings, and contribute to systematic solutions for risk challenges that span Amazon's global operations. We are looking for someone who is analytically rigorous and skilled at translating investigative findings into clear, credible intelligence for senior stakeholders.

In this role, you will also collaborate with Legal and regional HR partners to develop interview strategy for suspected bad actors, conduct those interviews, and produce disciplinary recommendations that result in meaningful accountability outcomes. You will be expected to manage your investigations with a high degree of independence while knowing when to escalate and how to communicate findings with precision and confidence. This is a high visibility role that offers broad exposure to Amazon's risk landscape and real ownership over outcomes that matter.

Key job responsibilities
• Use SQL to complete risk analyses using complex data sets.
• Use high-level judgment to own our most complex internal risk investigations, including both the investigative and employee interview processes.
• Use data and Agentic AI solutions to scale risk signals and identify bad actors individually and in partnership with our Data Science team.
• Conduct large scale deep dives to derive insights about tactics used to conduct abuse on our stores; identify gaps and risk in Amazon's current mechanisms, systems, and policies and recommend solutions to product/policy owning teams.
• Discover solutions and convey detailed technical knowledge to engineering, legal, and program/product management teams.

About the team
The Special Projects and Investigations (SPI) team sits within Amazon's Trust & Store Integrity organization and is responsible for identifying and dismantling the most complex abuse threats across Amazon's global business, from internal collusion and insider risk to fraud, cybersecurity threats, and regulatory violations. We design and implement the policies, tools, and investigative capabilities that protect customers, selling partners, and Amazon itself from bad actors operating at scale.

Our team is built on deep subject matter expertise across fraud, cybersecurity, data security, insider risk, and compliance, paired with a strong bias toward data-driven investigation and technical problem solving. We use AI-native tooling and automation as force multipliers, and we expect our investigators to help define what modern, high-impact investigation looks like, not just execute a playbook. This is a team that takes hard problems seriously and supports the people solving them. We move fast, learn from failure, and bring genuine curiosity to work that is consequential, where the puzzles are complex, the stakes are real, and the results matter.
